One of my biggest questions to myself is Why do I do what I do? What is my why?
As a mom of grown children I have learned the hard way how fast the time slips away. Trust me you will hear it all the time “it goes by so fast”, and I can remember thinking this is dragging on forever ~you know “those days” we all have them. I was also guilty of wishing time away, “I can’t wait till they are sleeping through the night”, “I can’t wait till they are sitting up, holding their bottle, out of diapers” etc and the list goes on and on. What I should have been doing is focusing on each of those moments and enjoying that specific time with them. Because now I question did I hold them enough, did I give them enough kisses, did I give them enough time to be little etc. and again the list can go on. Then I look back through photo albums~ the feelings that a photo can bring to you. Becoming a mother changes everything you are and why you exist on this Earth, its a whole new reason for living. The love you feel is indescribable and when your looking back at your images I hope they will bring you back to that moment when they were so very tiny. When I capture images of your children whether its within one of my baby collections or a yearly birthday or a family session. I am not just taking pictures, I hope for you I am creating something that will be treasured for years to come. My goal is to capture a memory and a feeling of that time in your life, I am telling your story and freezing it for you to keep and be reminded of that moment for the rest of your life. The experience you have here when coming to the studio for your child's portraits is part of that moment and feeling. I want to create an experience that you will carry with you every time you look at those images. I want you to feel the love in the images and the connection with them. The other lesson I want to share, goes along with the idea that “it goes by so fast”. It truly does, especially within your babies first year. Each day your baby is changing, if you put off capturing those newborn images or tummy time or sitting on their own, or that connection your have with your children in a family session. Before you know it they are onto their next stage and those are moments of your story with them you will never be able to get back. I don’t want you to let those moments pass you by. So in wrapping it up that is my Why!
